L’Horizon retrouvé revolves around the idea of dissemination and horizon. When works from the collection of Frac Lorraine, in Metz, France, were shown at several regional venues, the artist painted an abstract, constellation-like map with reference points and letters on the Frac courtyard floor. Matching silver adhesive dots were affixed to various surfaces in the different locations, and the artist wrote a short poem for each one, printed in a passport-size booklet. Visitors could keep track of their itinerary by having the booklet stamped at each venue and record their thoughts on blank pages corresponding to points not referenced on the map in Metz. In this way, the book became a personal art object in its own right.

À l'horizon de shangri-La

Shangri-La, « Pays du sacré et de la paix », une ville imaginaire, enclave de paix et d'harmonie située sur les flancs de l'Himalaya, est emblématique d'une vision utopique et fantasmée de l'Asie, forgée par l'Occident. Une vision qui a été largement transmise par les explorateurs ou aventuriers de tous bords partis à la conquête de ces territoires, par les hippies en mal de spiritualité, puis par les artistes qui sont allés défier la démesure de ces paysages et des constructions. À leur suite, nous vous proposons d'emprunter les chemins qui mènent à Shangri-La et de regarder depuis la cité si l'utopie y est toujours vivace et la paix florissante.
